Who can advertise on Photo Friday?
Anyone with a product, service, or website likely to be of interest to photographers and artists.
How much does it cost?
Pricing begins at $5 for 1,000 ad impressions. Impressions can be purchased in full increments of 1,000. An 'impression' is counted whenever your banner has been displayed on a page. We do not charge for click-throughs (when a visitor actually clicks on your banner.)
There are no additional fees or charges.
How big can I make my banner?
Your banner must be a static (non-animated) .GIF file and cannot exceed 60 pixels in height and 200 pixels in width. While we do not offer text ads at this time, you're welcome to use text by itself in your banner. Your finished and approved banner will then be 'headered' and 'footered' into another .GIF file that we create. The header will read advertisement and the footer comment on this ad. Please do not submit banners with this text already in place.
Where will my banner appear?
Banner ads appear on Photo Friday under the copyright on all pages that display a copyright 'above the fold'. Your banner will appear on the main page as well as archive and instructional pages. Advertising is not permitted, at this time, in the Link Viewer.
Can I have more than one banner running at the same time?
Absolutely. Run as many different banners at the same time as you like.
Can I choose the date when my banner will start?
Yes. During banner set up you have the option to set a 'start date'. By default, banners go live as soon as they are approved and payment is received.
If I buy 1,000 impressions, how long will it take before they're all used up?
This depends on two factors: How many other banners are running at the same time, and how much traffic is coming to Photo Friday. If your banner is running by itself, your 1,000 impressions will be completely served in less than a day.
Can I get the comments you collect from my banner ad?
Yes! We gladly share selected banner comments with their respective advertisers in anonymous form. Can I advertise in your email newsletter?
No. Photo Friday does not use email as a vehicle for marketing.
What kind of stats can I get on my banners?
When signed on to the Advertiser Portal you can view real-time aggregate stats on all your campaigns, past and present, as well as detailed daily performance metrics including Total Impressions, Total Clickthroughs, Percentage of Clickthroughs, and more.
What happens when my banner expires?
We send a brief notice when your banner expires letting you know that all impressions have been served. |
